Return Policy

At HANDTASTIQUE, we strive to ensure you are satisfied with your purchase of our unique second-hand and vintage items. Should an item nevertheless not meet your expectations, our return policy applies in accordance with Belgian consumer protection legislation.

1. Right of Withdrawal and Cooling-off Period

Cooling-off period: You have the right to withdraw from the contract within a period of 14 calendar days without giving any reason.
Start of period: The withdrawal period expires 14 calendar days after the day on which you (or a third party designated by you, who is not the carrier) physically receive the item.

2. How do you register a return?

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw from the contract by means of an unequivocal written statement via email.

Please clearly state your order number, the item you wish to return, and optionally the reason (not mandatory, but helps us improve our service).

3. Conditions for Return and Depreciation

After submitting your withdrawal notification, you have another 14 calendar days to actually return the item to us. Strict conditions apply to this:

Condition of the item: The item must be returned in the exact condition in which you received it. This includes all included accessories (such as original dust bags, shoulder straps, certificates of authenticity, or cards).
Inspection: You may only handle and inspect the item as you would be allowed to do in a physical store to determine its nature and characteristics.
Depreciation: You are liable for any depreciation of the item resulting from the use or testing of the item that goes beyond what is necessary to determine its nature, characteristics, and functionality. If the item is returned damaged, soiled, or used in a way that differs from its condition at shipment, we reserve the right to deduct this depreciation from the amount to be refunded or to refuse the return.

4. Costs and Risk of Return Shipment

Shipping costs: The direct costs for returning the item are fully borne by the buyer.
Risk and burden of proof: The risk and burden of proof for the correct and timely exercise of the right of withdrawal lie with the buyer. We strongly recommend that you send returns by registered mail and sufficiently insured. HANDTASTIQUE is not responsible for lost or damaged return shipments.

5. Refund

Period: After we have received the returned item and physically checked its condition, we will refund the due amount within 14 days of receipt.
Contents of the refund: If you withdraw from the entire order, we will refund the original purchase price including the standard shipping costs of the initial delivery. The costs for the return shipment to us are at your own expense.
Payment method: The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise.
Suspension: We expressly reserve the right to wait with the refund until we have physically received and inspected the item.
